GRAZIA TODERI
19 SEPTEMBER - 3 NOVEMBER 2001
Whether by digitally manipulating aerial views of cityscapes by night, or scenes of the audiences in theatres and stadia, Grazia Toderi’s recent video works achieve a sense of spectacle and mounting anticipation. Though often monumental in scale, they nonetheless create a sense of intimacy through their precise engagement with and location of the viewer. Over time, Toderi’s works also effect a kind of metamorphosis. By the introduction of constellations of points of light, they seem to transform themselves from the familiar to something strangely cosmological. For the opening exhibition of f a projects, Toderi will be showing a new video projection piece, RANDOM, alongside stills from other works. Grazia Toderi has been included in the Venice biennale (1993 and 1999), and has had solo exhibitions at the Castello di Rivoli, Turin, The Museum Ludwig, Cologne and The Project, New York
